This western state has a very strong agricultural economy producing cattle, calves, sheep, wheat, barley, dairy products, sugar beets, potatoes, dried beans, alfalfa, canola, corn, garbanzo beans, peas, flaxseed, lentils, mustard seed, oats, safflower and sunflower. Montana benefits from the industrial sector of the economy from its sugar production, food processing, ethanol production and petroleum refineries. The logging industry is strong here and provides the raw materials for a number of wood products. |
