paper products, printing, and publishing, machinery, tools, and
metal and rubber products The agricultural sector of the economy here produces cranberries, hothouse and garden plants, apples and dairy products. The mining industry extracts small amounts of lime, clay, sand, gravel, and stone. Research and development, high-tech industries, finance, and trade are all important in this state’s economic make up. The tourism industry provides jobs for thirty percent of this states work force. The service sector, in which tourism is primary, now employs over one third of Massachusetts’s workers. |
