Homes in the Sunset District enjoy magnificent sunsets, pleasant winters and serene summers if there is not a blanket of fog. This is the heaviest fog belt in San Francisco and it is enough of an issue that you should consider it before buying a home here. If you can cope with the fog then this is the place for you. You will find apartments near the Pacific and quaint homes along Judah Street. This is the largest
neighborhood in San Francisco. This is a middle class neighborhood where there is a low crime rate and the homes are taken care of. Immigration built this neighborhood. Homes here are usually two stories with the garage on the first floor and living quarters on the second floor. Homes are on small lots with not real yards and no significant views.

Recreation is a great option for residents here with the Pacific within walking distance for many to the west and Golden Gate Park just to the north. There are three main commercial streets running east and west here. From north to south they are Judah Street, Noriega Street and Taraval Street. Along these non-trendy streets you will find many eateries, java joints, and little shops that include Irish Pubs, Chinese cafes and kosher delis.

Like so many other neighborhoods in the city, the Sunset is moving up the scale and becoming more affluent. The Sunset District is bounded by Lincoln Way to the north, 7th Avenue the furthest to the east, Sloat Boulevard the furthest to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Homes in the Sunset district run from $300,000 to $400,000.

Outer Sunset
The Outer Sunset neighborhood was at one time only sand dunes. When in the Outer Sunset and you are looking for the foggiest part of this district. The Outer Sunset is generally considered to begin at 19th Avenue and to extend for approximately 30 blocks to Ocean Beach. This neighborhood has some elements that make it much less appealing than the other neighborhoods in San Francisco if the fog doesn't get you then the dreary single-family 1950s houses will. As for the rest of the Sunset District the Outer Sunset has a low crime rate and very ready access to the fun places like Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. Ocean. The main commercial drag for the Outer Sunset runs along Irving Street from 19th Avenue to 27th Avenue.

Grand View - Golden Gates Heights
