The Parkside neighborhood has an atmosphere of a small town. Homes in this neighborhood are mainly with single-family residences. As was the case for many of the neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Parkside neighborhood was mostly sand dunes. The inhabitants of this community had no basic services including limited public transportation.
