Diamond Heights real estate sits along a steep ridge south of Twin Peaks, east of Mount Davidson and on the west-facing slope of Glen Canyon. Diamond Heights is a neighborhood that was designed to create a suburban community that is married with nature offering the pleasure of the silence and the convince of close proximity to one of the most dynamic cities in the world. Hidden in the midst of urban
sprawl. During the fifties most of the existing single family homes and apartments were built here. The seventies saw the construction of a number of townhouses on these beautiful slopes. Amazingly these rocky slopes have been turned into the developments that now contain over two thousand homes.

Homes in the Diamond Heights neighborhood have regular sunshine and panoramic view of the downtown area of San Francisco. It is an affordable area of San Francisco for young families, students, artists and professionals with its modest single-family homes, apartments and condos.

This is a trendy area among twenty and thirty somethings. The nature of the architecture here is attractive to new families, students, artists, and neo professionals who want a less homogenized living situation. Certainly an upscale neighborhood of San Francisco but hasn’t followed the total gentrification of some of the more yuppified neighborhoods in this west coast community.
Diamond Heights Recreation
One of the great things that the more enthusiastic outdoor types will love is the fact that the Diamond Heights District runs along a slope above Glen Canyon Park. Dog lovers and hikers will love this park for its closeness and exposure to nature. It is common to see red tail hawks drifting overhead and you will also see the tracks of small animals like raccoons, skunks, and possums. Islais Creek, the small stream that runs through the

chasm is the only natural unobstructed watercourse San Francisco.

Residents of Diamond Heights can enter the Glen Canyon Park via the Christopher Playground in the central area of this neighborhood. This trail is steep and drops down onto the end of the Glen Canyon Trail.
